About Us
Abletalk was developed in response to a growing demand in the Triangle area for quality services provided onsite, in a variety of community settings, including daycares, preschools, and schools. Through working with families, we found they appreciate our ability to work with their increasingly busy schedules and to provide services in a variety of settings. Kirstin Kim is the owner & practicing clinician at Abletalk. Kirstin received her Bachelor’s from the University of NC at Chapel Hill & her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University. She is licensed through the Department of Public Instruction, NC and NM Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Kirstin has worked in the triangle area including public schools and pediatric private practice providing services for children of all ages. Abletalk's therapists use a total language approach, involving the support of teachers and families for best practice and carryover. Our expertise covers an array of communication disorders and delays, including receptive and expressive language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, stuttering, hearing and visual impairments, social language, swallowing and feeding disorders, simple sign language and low-tech visual support, and developmental disabilities (Down Syndrome, Autism and other mental disabilities.)
